Nursing

I'm Berkin Bahri Bilger. I am 22 years old. I am a senior student at Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University, Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Nursing. The Department of Nursing is located in the Faculty of Health Sciences, Taşlıçiftlik Campus. Nursing focuses on protecting and improving the health of the individual, family and society; aiming to increase the ideal health level and quality of life. They also make up a professional group that can cooperate with other health personnel to provide medical and holistic care to the patient. In our 8-term Nursing Department, we primarily take courses such as Histology, Microbiology, Anatomy, Physiology, which are basic medical courses. In addition, we also take courses such as Nursing Fundamentals, Internal Medicine Nursing, Surgical Diseases Nursing and Mental Health and Psychiatric Nursing for the nursing profession. At the same time we also take courses that aim to develop our nursing skills, such as first aid, growth-development and gender. In our department, we have clinical practice laboratories for our Child Health, Nursing Fundamentals and Gynecology courses. Thanks to the training we have received in these laboratories, we are creating an infrastructure for clinical applications. After each vocational course, we go to clinical practice under the supervision of our responsible teachers. After graduation, we can work in hospitals, clinics, polyclinics, family health centers, community mental health centers, schools and workplaces. In addition, after completing master's and doctoral programs in the field of Mental Health and Psychiatric Nursing, we can also work as forensic interviewers in child monitoring centers. I chose this department because I thought I would be honored to serve the nursing profession, which is a profession that touches the human spirit, takes pride in helping the patients it cares for, with the highest moral values. I chose the Department of Nursing, thinking that I would be more comfortable thanks to the wide job opportunities that I will have. It can be said that Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University is a university that constantly improves itself, its achievements showcasing just that. For these reasons, I chose Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University. After graduation, I want to become competent in the field of internal medicine nursing by enrolling in master's and doctoral programs. I want to pursue an academic career. Students who will choose the Department of Nursing should like doing research and reading. They should also have the means to obtain real scientific knowledge and move the science of nursing forward.
