Faculty of Dentistry

Hello, I'm Serkan Batırır. I am a 5th grade student at Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University Faculty of Dentistry. I am 25 years old and originally from Tokat. Our faculty was established in 2011 to train dentists and academics who have up-to-date knowledge and follow modern practices and technology. Our faculty is located in the center of the city. We are located in the Ali Şevki Erek Campus together with the Faculty of Medicine. The education period in our faculty is 5 years. In the first 3 years, courses such as Anatomy, Physiology, Histology are provided in Fundamental Medical Sciences. In the 4th and 5th grades, clinical training is provided in our field. In our faculty, there are clinics which belong to 8 departments, 1 pre-clinic, 2 Simulation Laboratories, and a Dentistry Research Laboratory. In addition, we have a laboratory which belongs to Fundamental Medical Sciences, which we use together with the Faculty of Medicine. Apart from this, we need to prepare a graduation thesis in order to graduate. After graduating from our department, we can work in institutions and organizations, part of the Ministry of Health, private institutions and organizations and individual practices. I chose my department because of my interest and involvement in science. In addition, the social prestige of the Dentistry profession and the future job opportunities of this profession were also effective in my choice. As a result of my research, I chose Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University because of its qualified staff. Also, the general factor in my choice was that it had more social opportunities and means to improve myself individually. After graduation, I want to open my own consulting room and gain experience in this field. Candidates who will choose the Faculty of Dentistry should be patient, have good communication skills, be tolerant, should not get bored easily, have some manual dexterity, and have the ability to see in three dimensions. There are various social facilities on the campus of our university. You can also benefit from these in line with your personal preferences and contribute to your personal development.
