Computer Engineering

Hello, I am Yaren Didenaz Saraçoğlu. I am a 3rd year student at Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University, Department of Computer Engineering. Our department was established to train computer engineers at the Faculty of Architecture and Engineering at Taşlıçiftlik Campus. Computer engineers do hardware and software work. Our department teaches us these. In our department, basic courses are given in the first years. These are courses that everyone should take, such as Physics and Mathematics. In the following years, we also take elective and department-oriented courses. We developed a mobile application which provides information on Tokat for one of our elective courses. In another project, we diagnosed kidney disease and prevented a forest fire for another. There are 2 computer labs for 50 people in our department. We can use these labs whenever we want. There are many fields in which we can work after graduation. If we want, we can continue in the academy, if we want, we can work in agriculture and health in the state or private sector. In addition, we can open our own company. Our department has a 40-day internship program. We can do this for 20 days twice or in a single go. We can do internships anywhere that requries a computer engineer. Currently we have an apprenticeship program at Uyumsoft Information Systems. This program also provides as job opportunities after graduation. I think computer engineering is the profession of the future. That's why I chose this department and wanted to study in this department. Tokat is a city that is easy to live and commute. The academic staff of our university is also great, so I wanted to study at this university. After I graduate, I want to become an academician and teach my students what I know. I recommend all students who are interested in computer hardware and software to choose our department. They should study in this department in a wonderful city like Tokat with its atmosphere and nature, on a campus intertwined with nature.
